About our course
The "From Molecules to Organisms STEM Professional Development Course" has been developed by the NCESA professional development coordinators and Northland Pioneer College faculty in Biology and Mathematics for K-5 teachers. In the course you will:
· Learn life science concepts related to plants and animals through hands-on investigations, computer generated simulations, and engineering design challenges
· Learn ways to support STEM learning through mathematics integration aligned to the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards
- Design a standards-based STEM project in inter-district grade-level teams
· Engage students in active/experimental learning through critical thinking, collaboration, and discourse
· Analyze student work by gathering evidence of learning in the classroom and adapt teaching to meet the needs of students.
